Current status: Closed
This consultation ran from July 31, 2025 to August 30, 2025.
About the consultation
We are developing our 2026 to 2028 Accessibility Plan. The plan will outline updated commitments to improve accessibility across the agency's policies, programs, services, workplaces and operations. It builds on the CFIA's 2023 to 2026 Accessibility Plan.
This was an opportunity for people with disabilities, caregivers and stakeholders to share their experiences and identify barriers when interacting with our programs, services or workplaces.
Background
We are committed to building a more accessible and inclusive organization.
The Accessible Canada Act requires federal departments and agencies to identify, remove and prevent barriers to accessibility. Under the act, organizations must consult persons with disabilities when developing accessibility plans and report publicly on their progress.
A summary of what we hear through this consultation will be included in the CFIA's 2026 to 2028 Accessibility Plan, to be published by December 31, 2025.
Who was the focus of this consultation
We were looking for your feedback to help guide the priorities and actions in our next Accessibility Plan and help us work towards a barrier-free Canada by 2040. This will help us ensure that our actions reflect the lived experiences and diverse needs of persons with disabilities.
We welcomed input from:
