Travelling with sheep or goats: import rules
All sheep and goats entering Canada must meet Canada's import requirements.
All varieties of sheep and goats, whether kept as pets, companion animals or farm animals, are susceptible to the same serious diseases and must meet the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's (CFIA) import conditions when returning to Canada after travelling.
If you plan to travel with your animals, consult the Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) to make sure you comply with import requirements and know the risks of animal diseases in other countries.
Please contact the nearest CFIA Animal Health District Office for additional information.
