Notice to Industry: Amended inspection requirements for processed feathers

May 9, 2022

On May 27, 2022 the Automated Import Reference System will be updated to provide additional options for inspection of imported processed feathers.

The current Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) policy is that all imported shipments of processed feathers that require inspection must be inspected at the first port of entry. As of May 27, 2022, these requirements will be amended to allow inspection either at the port of entry or inland at a bonded warehouse that is supervised by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

If you have any questions, please contact your local CFIA Animal Health office.
