If you would like to export a dog or cat to Brunei Darussalam, you must obtain an Import Permit from the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood, Brunei Darussalam prior to entry into the country.

Please review the certificate Export of Dogs and Cats to Brunei Darussalam from Canada - PDF (460 kb) and ensure that all requirements are met in advance of travel. One of the requirements is a Rabies Neutralizing Antibody Titre Test. This test must be performed in an approved laboratory at least 30 days after rabies vaccination. A passing result is 0.5 International Units (IU) or more. The test is valid for one (1) year from the date of sampling. The animal(s) should be vaccinated against rabies, no less than sixty (60) days and no more than one (1) year prior to departure. Animals younger than three (3) months do not need to be vaccinated against rabies.

Exporters should also note that pets require an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) microchip for export. For easy reference, the National Companion Animal Coalition's website lists companies that manufacture ISO-compatible microchips.
