Order Amending the Order Declaring a Secondary Control Zone
On June 28, 2022, Secondary Control Zones were declared by the delegate of the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food (the "Minister"), Dr. Siddika Mithani, then President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, under subsection 27.1(2) of the Health of Animals ActFootnote 1 (the "Act"), in respect of rabies caused by canine-variant viruses ("Declaration Order");
The Minister has the power under section 27.3 of the Act to, by order, amend an order made under subsection 27.1(2) of the Act; and
As the President of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, I have the delegated authority under subsection 4(2) of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency ActFootnote 2 to exercise the powers of the Minister under section 27.3 of the Act to amend an order made under subsection 27.1(2) of the Act;
Therefore, by this order, I amend the Declaration Order made on June 28, 2022 by removing the following airports: "Lac Mégantic Seaplanes Airport, Quebec Region", "Montreal/Les Cèdres Airport, Quebec Region" and "St-Frédéric Airport, Quebec Region", from the list of airports in the Schedule attached to the Declaration Order.
