Premises affected by Trichinellosis in Canada
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) works with provincial and municipal colleagues and industry to address the risk of trichinellosis. The CFIA administers a Trichinella control program which includes surveillance, regulation and testing.
In Canada, trichinellosis is a reportable disease under the Health of Animals Act, and all cases must be reported to the CFIA.
