Spot the signs of African swine fever

  • High fever
  • Reddening of the skin
  • Vomiting and diarrhea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Death
  • Abortion in pregnant sows
  • Weakness and inability to stand
  • Internal bleeding

This is a highly contagious animal disease that affects all pigs. There is no vaccine or treatment.

Prevent a spread: immediately reporting any suspected cases could prevent a spread of African swine fever (ASF), saving a lot of pigs and Canadian jobs.
