March 12, 2014: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) cancelled the produce licence of SD Trading Ltd., effective March 5, 2014. SD Trading Ltd. is an importer of fresh fruit and vegetables located in Surrey, BC.
The company's licence was suspended on December 2, 2013 as a result of non-compliance with the Licensing and Arbitration Regulations. Specifically, SD Trading Ltd. consistently failed to settle outstanding debts which is inconsistent with fair and orderly business practices. The licence was cancelled after SD Trading Ltd. failed to address the required corrective action.
There are no food safety concerns associated with the licence suspension or subsequent licence cancellation.
