Effective May 27, 2019, the Safe Food for Canadians licence of Quoddy Savour Seafood Ltd. was reinstated and the company was allowed to resume operations.

June 4, 2019, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) suspended the Safe Food for Canadians licence of Quoddy Savour Seafood Ltd., a seafood wholesaler establishment located in Pennfield, New Brunswick, on May 1, 2019. The licence was reinstated on May 27, 2019.

While the suspension was in effect, the licence holder could not conduct any activity for which licence 9KWG4X4W was issued.

There was no food recall associated with this suspension.

CFIA suspended the licence because the licence holder failed to comply with the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations requirements for reliably implementing adequate controls for traceability on a consistent basis in accordance with the applicable provisions under section 90 of the regulations.

Industry is responsible for the safety and quality of their products and for ensuring that they comply with Canada's food laws. CFIA is committed to enforcing those laws.
