October 14, 2015, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has cancelled the operating licence of Les Fumets Sylvestre Inc., a meat processing plant in Ste-Marguerite-de-Dorchester, Quebec, effective October 2, 2015.
The operating licence, issued under the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990, was cancelled because the company has ceased activities. The CFIA can no longer access the facilities and has been unable to contact the operator since June 25, 2015.
Licenses and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
