Effective October 28, 2016, the licence of Lambert Creek Organic Meats Ltd. was reinstated and the company was allowed to resume operations under ongoing inspection by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
October 21, 2016, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operating licence of Lambert Creek Organic Meats Ltd., a beef slaughter and processing establishment located in Grindrod, British Columbia, effective October 21, 2016.
The operator's licence has been suspended because the operator has not developed and maintained Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Plans as required by the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990.
There is no recall associated with this suspension.
The operator will not be able to resume activities related to the processing of meat products until a CFIA inspector determines that the required corrective measures have been taken.
Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled or refused renewal for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.
