Effective February 15, 2016, the licence of Establishment 4446, Chad Brown Seafoods Inc. was reinstated and the company was allowed to resume operations under ongoing inspection by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
August 27, 2015, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the registration of Establishment 4446, Chad Brown Seafoods Inc., in Welshpool, New Brunswick, effective August 26, 2015.
The CFIA has determined that adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis, which is a violation of the Fish Inspection Regulations.
There is no recall associated with this suspension.
Chad Brown Seafoods Inc. will not be able to resume operations until it has fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is confident in the facility's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.
Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its web site.
