Effective October 29, 2015, the establishment was allowed to resume operations under ongoing inspection by the CFIA.
July 7, 2015 – Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the registration of Establishment 1803, Chef Bento/Chef Nori, effective July 3, 2015. The establishment is a federally registered fish processing and exporting facility located in Ottawa, Ontario.
The CFIA has determined that adequate controls for food safety are not being reliably implemented in the facility on a consistent basis, which is in violation of the Fish Inspection Regulations.
There is no recall associated with this suspension.
Establishment 1803 will not be permitted to resume operations until it has fully implemented the necessary corrective actions and the CFIA is confident in the facility's capacity to effectively manage food safety risks.
Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended or cancelled for failing to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its web site.
