CFIA suspends the licence of company 9377-8249 Québec inc. due to non-compliances related to preventive controls

August 14, 2019, Ottawa: The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the licence of company 9377-8249 Québec inc., in the business of importing fish, in Laval, Quebec, effective August 12, 2019, pursuant to the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.

While the suspension is in effect, the licence holder may not conduct any activity for which licence number 7TM6XLCG was issued.

There is no food recall associated with this suspension.

CFIA suspended the licence because the operator did not develop a preventive control plan related to import controls in accordance with the relevant provisions of Part 4 of the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.

Industry is responsible for the safety and quality of their food products and for ensuring that they comply with Canada's food laws. CFIA is committed to enforcing those laws.

The suspension may be lifted if CFIA determines that acceptable corrective actions were taken to address the non-compliance(s) in question. If acceptable corrective actions for the non-compliance(s) are not taken within 90 days after suspension, CFIA may cancel the licence.
