CFIA Executive Vice-President

The Executive Vice-President (EVP), as part of the President's office, performs duties and functions to support the President. The EVP acts as President in the President's absence.

About the Executive Vice-President, J.-G. Forgeron

J.-G. Forgeron

J.-G. Forgeron became EVP of the CFIA on April 4, 2022.

He has a wealth of leadership experience in the federal government, and most recently served as the Senior Assistant Deputy Minister at Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), where he was responsible for Canada's Fisheries and Harbour Management.

Before joining DFO in 2019, Jean-Guy led the Regulatory Affairs Sector at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat as the Assistant Secretary. From 2013-2015, Jean-Guy was Chief of Staff to the Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet at the Privy Council Office.

Originally from Isle Madame, Nova Scotia, Jean-Guy has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Dalhousie University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Carleton University.
