On December 17, 2018, at the Montreal courthouse, the Montreal-based company 9208-0472 Québec Inc., operating as "Bezras Hashem Select Kosher Imports", pled guilty to 3 violations of the Food and Drugs Act and its Regulations.
On June 26, 2019, the Court of Québec fined the company $5,000 for each of 3 counts of:
- interfering with things seized, contrary to subsection 24(2) of the Food and Drugs Act.
- obstructing an inspector while engaged in carrying out their duties, contrary to subsection 24(1) of the Food and Drugs Act.
- selling breakfast cereals to which a non-approved vitamin, mineral nutrient or amino acid has been added, contrary to subsection D.03.002 (1) of the Food and Drugs Regulations.
The events took place between March 8, 2016, and October 12, 2016.
