- All fish and seafood products except those listed below
- Live shrimp, prawns and molluscs species that are not identified in Annex 1 and Annex 2 of Taiwan's Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Live Crustaceans and Molluscs (Chinese only)
- An English copy of the requirements can be downloaded from this webpage
- Since live shrimp of the genus Pandalus (Pandalus spp.) are not identified in Annex 1, they are eligible for export
Ineligible
- Seal products
- Uneviscerated, frozen or chilled salmonids, perches, catfishes and cyprinids
- Live shrimp or prawns, live crayfish, live abalone and other species which are identified in Annex 1 and Annex 2 of Taiwan's Quarantine Requirements for the Importation of Live Crustaceans and Molluscs (Chinese only)
- Quarantine requirements apply to species identified in Annex 1 and Annex 2. Shipments of these species exported without a negotiated aquatic animal health certificate may be detained
Pre-export approvals by the competent authority of the importing country
Establishments
Establishments exporting to Taiwan must be in compliance with Canadian regulations, licensed under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) for the required activity, and appear on the list of Canadian fish and seafood establishments approved for export. Contact your local CFIA office if your establishment is not on this list.

Labelling, packaging and marking requirements
Labelling
- Country and province of origin must be declared
- All appropriate boxes or containers of eviscerated frozen or chilled fish products of salmonids, perch, catfish and cyprinids shall be marked with "Canada", CFIA Establishment ID number, and the exporter's province

Certificate
For live finfish and their roe
Aquatic animal health and sanitary certificate for the export of live finfish, their viable gametes and fertilized eggs for human consumption from Canada to Taiwan (AQAH-1034)
The above certificate is a joint certificate containing both food safety/public health and aquatic animal health attestations. Additional information is available on the Aquatic animal export: certification requirements for Taiwan page.
For bivalve molluscs under Harmonised System (HS) code 0307
Sanitary certificate covering for fish and fishery products (CFIA/ACIA 5431)
The following statements/information must be included on the certificate (CFIA/ACIA 5431):

if the fish and fishery products destined for Taiwan meet all applicable requirements as well as the European Union (EU) requirements, the certificate can be issued as is

if the fish and fishery products destined for Taiwan meet all applicable requirements however, they do not meet the European Union requirements, then the certificate described above can be issued with the following portions removed
- first 3 statements – strike out: "and European Union regulatory requirements"

last statement – strike out the complete statement: "originate from (an) establishment(s) approved to export to the European Union"

information on harvest area must be indicated under Section II Provenance
This requirement currently applies only to bivalve molluscs such as oyster, clams, scallops, mussels, etc.
For fish and seafood products exported to Taiwan for further processing and subsequently exported to EU member states
Sanitary certificate covering for fish and fishery products (CFIA/ACIA 5431)
Note: currently, there are no known certification requirements for the export of live crabs, live shrimp (of the genus Pandalus), or other fresh/frozen fishery products for human consumption. Exporters are strongly encouraged to confirm the documentation requirements for the export of these product types to Taiwan prior to commencing export activities.
