Countries officially recognized by Canada as being free of Newcastle Disease (ND) which is listed in the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Terrestrial Animal Code.
Imports of the following from susceptible species originating from countries and/or zones not recognized as free are prohibited:
- live animals
- germplasm
- hatching eggs
- animal products
- animal by-products
The importation of pet birds from countries and/or zones other than those listed on this page may be allowed.
During an outbreak in countries and/or zones usually recognized as free of ND, imports of the following are not permitted from the countries and/or zones not recognized as free:
- live birds
- hatching eggs
- germplasm
- unprocessed avian products and by-products
Additionally, the following imports from other countries and/or zones may not travel through zones not recognized as free on their way to Canada:
- live birds
- poultry
- hatching eggs
Note that, for the United States of America, European Union Member States and the United Kingdom, a restricted zone is a 10 km circular zone around an infected premises and not the entire state or county in the following list.

- West Pomeranian (zachodniopomorskie)

- Subcarpathian (podkarpackie)
- Lesser Poland (małopolskie)
- Lower Silesian (dolnośląskie)
- Łódź (łódzkie)
- Masovian (mazowieckie)
- Silesian (śląskie)
- Spain
- Valencian Community (Comunidad Valenciana)
- Germany
- All European Union Member States are recognized free of ND except the following affected zones:
- Iceland
- New Zealand
- Switzerland
