Current status: Closed
This consultation ran from July 1, 2021, to September 30, 2021.
About the consultation
Each year, the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) consults with contracting parties on draft International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPMs), draft specifications for ISPMs, and draft Commission on Phytosanitary Measures (CPM) Recommendations.
In 2021, the IPPC sought feedback from member countries on documents for standard-setting and for implementation and capacity development (ICD). These consultations gave each member country the opportunity to share their perspectives and contribute towards improving the ISPMs and their implementation.
The CFIA is responsible for:
- engaging partners and stakeholders
- submitting comments on behalf of Canadians
- ensuring that Canadian interests are considered and reflected in the ISPMs and ICD documents
Who was the focus of this consultation
All groups that are interested in plant health and willing to contribute feedback to any of the draft IPPC documents were encouraged to participate, including government organizations and industry stakeholders.
