How to manage an existing My CFIA profile.

Review account information

An up-to-date profile helps your service requests process in a timely manner and makes sure that our notifications reach your designated contacts. Regularly review your account information to make sure that it is:

  • accurate
  • complete
  • not misleading

Note: this includes records and documents identifying compliance with acts and regulations.

Understand your dashboard

The dashboard is a comprehensive overview of your My CFIA account. It is the first page you see when you sign in to your account.

From the dashboard you can:

  • submit service requests
  • view and monitor the status of service requests 
  • receive issued permissions
  • update your contact or party profile information
  • access a Help Menu to assist you in completing tasks in My CFIA

Navigate the Help Menu

Access the Help Menu at any point in My CFIA. Select the blue circle with the white question mark in the bottom right-hand corner to get started.

Support includes:

  • step-by-step interactive guidance on how to use, update and manage your My CFIA account
  • links to relevant resources (a new tab will open on your screen)

Manage your contact profile

  1. Select "Manage Contact Profile" in the navigation bar at the top of your dashboard
  2. Review and update your contact profile information on the "Manage Contact Profile" page
  3. Once complete, select "Submit"

Manage your party profile

From your dashboard, you can manage the party profiles for which you are the Profile Authority, Profile Manager or Alternate Profile Manager.

  1. In the "Party Administration" section of the dashboard, select the appropriate party profile
  2. Select "Manage party"
  3. Review and update your party profile information in the "Manage party" section
  4. Once complete, select "Save"

Manage your party relationships

From your dashboard, you can manage relationships on party profiles for which you are the:

  • Profile Authority
  • Profile Manager
  • Alternate Profile Manager

How to invite an Alternate Service Provider (ASP)

Your business may invite multiple ASPs to your party profile. An ASP, such as an accredited veterinarian, delivers a program or service that would otherwise be delivered by the CFIA.

To find an ASP:

  1. select your party profile
  2. select "Manage party"
  3. open the "Party ASPs" tab
  4. select "Add Party ASP"
  5. search for an ASP by name, location or accreditation

Note: ASPs cannot search for or initiate contact with a party.

How to invite a third party representative

Your business may invite a third party representative to your party profile.

A third party representative actions administrative work on behalf of your party in My CFIA.

Before sending an invitation, please contact the third party to confirm the following information:

  • the exact name of their party profile in My CFIA
  • their business address
  • their billing account with CFIA is in good standing and set-up for default invoicing

To invite a third party representative:

  1. select your party profile
  2. select "Manage party"
  3. open the "Party to party relationships" tab
  4. select "Invite Third Party Representative"
  5. search for the third party by exact party profile name and office address

Note: third parties cannot search for or initiate contact with a party they want to potentially represent in My CFIA.
