About the consultation
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) launched a consultation to seek feedback on the proposed Plant Health Science Mobilization Plan.
The plan proposes a national vision with clear objectives and concrete opportunities to collaboratively improve science coordination, foster a proactive approach to protect plant health and strengthen evidence-based decision making. The plan was co-developed with partners in the federal government, academia and elsewhere.
Who was the focus of this consultation
The CFIA engaged with plant health science communities, including:
- all levels of government
- academia
- industry
- citizen scientists
All comments were welcomed from non-government organizations and members of the public.
Key questions for discussion
The CFIA sought feedback on the proposed Plant Health Science Mobilization Plan, including:
- how the proposed goals align with the future of plant health science in Canada
- specific opportunities that may support the broader objectives and outcomes
- how consultation participants saw themselves and/or their organization contributing to the vision
