General
- Origin & Breeding: bred by Agriculture Canada from the cross (Green Mountain x F1020-1) and selected at the Fredericton Research Station, New Brunswick, in 1943.

Botanical Features
- Plants: large, erect, light reddish at the head of the plant; stems medium thick, slightly angled; nodes slightly swollen; wings not prominent.
- Leaves: light green, semi-open, broad; midribs very sparsely pubescent.
Terminal leaflets: oval; generally symmetrical, drooping; tip acute; base truncate.
Primary leaflets: four pairs; symmetrical.
Secondary leaflets: tip acute to round. - Flowers: numerous, white corolla; brownish buds; long peduncle.
- Tubers: elliptical to oblong; smooth dark creamy buff skin; medium-deep eyes; white flesh.
- Sprouts: cylindrical; grayish navy blue; moderately pubescent.
Agricultural Features
High yielding variety; well adapted to medium and light soils; tubers size early, tend to oversize. Highly resistant to hollow heart; susceptible to manganese toxicity and bruising; good storability if not bruised; not suitable for washing; medium specific gravity.
Remark: excellent home garden variety.
- Utilization: good to excellent for boiling and baking; good for chipping and french frying at harvest.
- Chief Market: fresh market.
Reaction to Diseases
Highly resistant: PVA, tuber net necrosis, late blight (race 1).
Moderately resistant: verticillium wilt.
Susceptible: black leg, bunch or purple top, common scab, fusarium dry rot, leaf roll, rhizoctonia, PVX, PVY.
