Export of dogs, cats and ferrets to Türkiye

If you would like to export a dog, cat or ferret to Türkiye, please contact the Türkiye's Competent Veterinary Authority to obtain the requirements and the necessary Veterinary Health and Origin Certificate. Although the site is in Turkish, the provided Veterinary Health and Origin Certificate is bilingual (Turkish-English) and outlines the requirements.

As the Turkish Veterinary Health and Origin Certificate only contains a signature block for the official (CFIA) veterinarian, the Canadian licensed veterinarian must complete and issue 2 certificates. The first certificate must be completed, signed and dated by the Canadian licensed veterinarian. The second certificate must be completed by the Canadian licensed veterinarian, leaving the signature block and health certificate number blank.

Both certificates and all supporting documentation must be brought to the CFIA District Office. The CFIA Official Veterinarian will review all the documentation, assign a health certificate reference number and endorse the second certificate based on the supporting documentation and certificate signed by the Canadian licensed veterinarian. If only 1 copy of the certificate is provided, a fee may be applied for the CFIA to issue and sign the official export certificate.

Please note that Türkiye may change these import requirements without notification to the CFIA. As a result, it is strongly advised that exporters always first confirm the requirements with Türkiye's Competent Authority before travelling and review the export certificate to ensure that all requirements are addressed.

If you have any questions about the information on this page, please contact the CFIA Animal Health Office in your area.
