Fraudulent organic certificates

Fraudulent certificates for organic products may have been created and used without the knowledge of the operator or the certification body (CB) named in such certificates. Nonetheless, you may contact the listed CB directly for more information in these cases.

To protect buyers and sellers of organic agricultural products, the CFIA has compiled information about falsified certificates that have been publicly circulated.

The COR certification of the company Frutas Y Verduras Linchlo S. De R.L. De C.V. was suspended in November 2023 and cancelled in February 2024 by the CFIA accredited certification body Metrocert.
September 2024 Earth Trade Handels GmbH (PDF) Am Pellerbruch 7, 21271 Hanstedt, Germany Ecocert Canada Ecocert confirmed that the certificate in question allegedly issued to Earth Trade Handels is fraudulent. The European authorities have been notified of the case.
